Students in Ms. Wonderly's 6th grade class sampled some good ole Indiana sweet corn last week, thanks to donations from Indiana Grown and Dave Sabones Farms. They read My Family's Corn Farm by Katie Olthoff and studied corn that Ms. Wonderly planted over the summer. We compared the sweet corn she grew versus the sweet corn coming from a larger farm (and why the container corn was not as tasty as the farm field corn.) They also compared major changes in farming over time thanks to advances in machinery and GPS. They ended the lesson by completing written narratives about a stalk of corn that grew larger than the rest of its harvest. #WarsawUnites

Earlier this week, 1st-4th grade music classes performed the music they have learned for other grades during the school day. They were showcasing the songs they learned as well as learning what it means to perform. The spectating grades used these performances as a way to practice being a respectful and active audience. #warsawinspires
