A huge thank-you to former Lakeview Tech, Mrs. Jean Beeson, for wrapping up this semester with the gift of sewing—and for teaching our students to sew with a purpose...or should we say, a "PAW-pose!"
These talented students crafted and donated adorable kerchiefs that have been gifted to our local Animal Welfare League and even to BRUNO—Mr. Nathan Patterson's four-legged bestie and official Science sidekick.
This holiday season, we're reminded that generosity comes in many forms—like tiny stitches that warm hearts (and furry necks).
Merry Christmas to all who helped make this project a success!

April Boggs had coffee with a friend and after hearing about the great things happening at Lakeview Middle School, Patty Wolfe brought in a beautiful box of cookies she baked this weekend. News of a treat like that spreads fast in a faculty starting the last week before Christmas break, and we are all so thankful! We are so grateful for all the community support we get at Lakeview Middle School Go Tigers! #lakeviewInspires #wcsinspires
POSTED: December 13, 2024 Lakeview Middle School came together in the most magical way to celebrate a beloved tradition—our unforgettable Christmas Luncheon!A huge thank-you to Nicole Jackson and our incredible Food Service Professionals, who outdid themselves preparing a delicious feast of ham, potatoes, green beans, dinner rolls, and a festive Christmas tree dessert. Each meal was perfectly complemented by black placemats, wrapped silverware with a candy cane tucked in, and a refreshing bonus apple juice. We are so grateful to Wildman for donating the beautiful linen tablecloths that set the stage for this special day. A big thank you to our amazing custodial team too! A massive shoutout to PTO President Jeri Purdy, our event specialist extraordinaire, and her team of dedicated volunteers who transformed our space with lit garlands, nearly 100 e-candles, and stunning gold, red, and black ornaments adorning the tablescape. The twinkling ceiling lights, hung by the amazing Mrs. Cooksey, paired beautifully with her wireless speaker playing cheerful holiday music, creating a warm, festive atmosphere. Special recognition to Gloria Reichard, our talented ML paraprofessional and resident artist, for her gorgeous window artwork, brought to life with the help of her student assistants. We also owe thanks to Rebecca and Conrad, who laid 26 white linens on the tables with such care and precision. Guest servers, including Jean Beeson, Mark McCollom, Emily Day, Janet Kinney, Laura Biltz, Gracie Pletcher, and Judy Timmons, brought smiles and holiday cheer to everyone they served. Their support truly exemplified the spirit of community. Behind the scenes, Principal Todd Braddock and Assistant Principal Michele White kept everything running smoothly, all while helping to rally the excitement for our ongoing Penny Wars challenge (Thank you April Boggs & WACCY WELDERS) Mr. Braddock shared, "My favorite moment came from 7th grade lunch today. 'Mr. Braddock, this is like eating at a 5 star restaurant!'" Amanda Scroggs, our District Librarian, delighted in capturing a few snaps to mark the occasion. This luncheon wouldn’t have been possible without the collective effort of so many dedicated individuals. It takes a village, and at Lakeview, we’re so proud of the one we’ve built. Wishing everyone in our community a joyful and peaceful holiday season weekend. #LakeviewInspires #wcsinspires #5StarRestaurant

Today Mrs. Cooksey brought her choir class around to carol for the teachers and students. She reached out to staff earlier in the week to see who had flexibility in their schedule to welcome the carolers. Mrs. Boggs said her class could hear the kids singing as they made their way down the hall, then they stopped at the door and sang two additional songs. Performing on a stage far removed from the audience is one thing, but today these students sang up close and personal for a group of their peers. What an excellent opportunity for them to grow in their confidence and performance practice! Thank you Mrs. Cooksey!

The top three teams from Lakeview in the penny wars were ELA 8, ELA 7, and Math. Our combined score is 427. The seven total Lakeview teams brought in right around $1,500. That amount alone ensures there WILL be a polar plunge next week. The only question is WHO is it going to be?? Let’s just say this, if the WACCYs ever decide to try a new profession, they could be tactical strategists because they know how to play the game. Even the cosmetology students joined the effort to bless our Lakeview families. This was a combined building effort! Yesterday the WACCYs had -17,300 points. With today’s donations, even though Lakeview put $430 of cash in their bucket, the WACCYs soared to 66,746 points. Their week’s donations totaled right around $1,500! Our combined penny war total was over $3,000.
We were able to add two more families to our list which means five families from Lakeview’s building will experience Christmas in a whole new way thanks to your giving. That’s pretty awesome. It’s also awesome that next week we’ll see Mr. Braddock and Officer Roberts brave the channel because they are men of integrity and will honor their word. Stay tuned for that exciting event next week! Again, Lakeview and the WACCY students have the biggest hearts and you proved that this week. We are so proud to be tigers!

A big THANK YOU to Zimmer Biomet Central Engineering for their generous donation of canned food to support our district-wide “Together We Feed Them All” challenge!
During their holiday party at The Barn 1880, each guest brought items to help our mission of ensuring no family in our community goes hungry. Their generosity is helping Lakeview Middle School and the entire district work toward our shared goal of feeding those in need.
We are so grateful for partnerships like this that make a real difference in the lives of our students and families.

Big day today in the Penny Wars. Before a teacher match, we are sitting at $1,050 in donations. We are just $450 away from the polar plunge! There is no teacher match tomorrow, so the final day of our penny wars rests solely on the students.
The ELA 8 team remains firmly in the lead with 9,146 points.
The combined total for the top three Lakeview teams is 3,785 points.
The WACCYs have a total point score of -19,717.
Unless something dramatic happens tomorrow, it looks like Mr. Braddock and Officer Roberts will be safe on shore while the WACCY welders will be taking a chilly dip in the channel.

Jami Davis, Student Assistant Coordinator at the Bowen Center, is at Lakeview Middle School today to speak about mental health, its importance, and how students can take care of their own well-being. Her presentation is tailored specifically for Health/PE's personalized classes.
Over the past three weeks, Mrs. Wood & Mr. Brumbaugh have been diving into the mental health unit. To enrich this offering, Jami was invited to discuss the stigma surrounding mental health and emphasize the importance of seeking help when needed. Lakeview is grateful for this partnership with the Bowen Center and encourage families to reach out to them if they have any need for their services.

Congratulations to all the talented musicians who performed at last night’s Lakeview & Edgewood Winter Concert!
The 6th-8th grade bands came together to showcase just how much they’ve grown in their musical abilities—and what a show it was!
From the festive classics like We Wish You A Merry Christmas and Jolly Old St. Nicholas to the heartwarming Silent Night sing-along tradition, the evening was pure holiday joy.
A huge round of applause to Mr. Joseph Peloza, whose dedication and leadership brought this magical night to life. Your hard work shines in every note!
Thank you to everyone who attended, cheered, and donated canned food to support our community.
This night truly captured the spirit of the season—music, giving, and togetherness.

We’re getting a HUGE boost from Rick & Judy Timmons, who’ve turned their 15-year collection of change into a game-changer!
Rick has been saving up a water cooler full of coins for over a decade and a half (talk about commitment!).
Last night, when Judy told Rick about the Penny Wars challenge benefiting three Lakeview families, he didn’t hesitate—he offered to donate it all to this amazing cause.
A massive thank you to Rick and Judy for their generosity and heart. 💛
Now let’s give it up for the WACCY Welders—because it’s looking like they might be taking a frosty dip in a frozen channel soon! ❄️

At Lakeview, we are so proud of our very own Judy Timmons, Administrative Assistant for Library Services! Judy recently called in to Willie 103.5 and aced their trivia question, winning a $100 prize.
In true Lakeview spirit, Judy generously chose to donate her winnings to the We Can End Weekend Hunger project. This incredible initiative is part of a district-wide challenge TOGETHER WE FEED THEM ALL, ensuring local families have access to nutritious food.
Judy’s selfless act is a shining example of the compassion and commitment that inspires us all. Judy shared her story & was recognized for her gift at a recent Lakeview PLC. Thank you, Judy, for making a difference in our community! 💙
