Mrs. Hawley

We finish our summer staff introductions with another new face at Washington this upcoming school year, Mrs. Becca Hawley! Mrs. Hawley will be teaching English Learners. She comes to us from Leesburg Elementary where she was serving as the EL teacher. Mrs. Hawley graduated from Manchester University four years ago. She spent her first two years teaching Spanish in Goshen before making the transition to elementary.

Mrs. Hawley shares about how she always saw herself helping others in a career that would be different each and every day. She has found this passion in education by serving students as they learn a new language. In teaching, Mrs. Hawley finds joy and fulfillment in helping students grow and find their individual passions and interests; as Mrs. Hawley would state, "...watching them become their best selves." This upcoming school year EL students will be supported by Mrs. Hawley as they grow in their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills as they complete grade level learning and projects.

A fun fact about Mrs. Hawley is that she actually lived in Spain for a semester while in college! Mrs. Hawley has already settled into her classroom and will be working alongside Ms. Rodriguez to serve our English Learner students. Welcome to Washington STEM Academy Mrs. Hawley!
