Washington STEM Academy is thrilled to announce our new art teacher Mrs. Miranda Stuckwisch! Mrs. Stuckwisch is a graduate of Indiana University Fort Wayne with a Bachelor's in Art Education with Art History and Sociology minors. Mrs. Stuckwisch is coming to us from Fort Wayne Community Schools where, ironically, she was teaching at Washington Elementary. Mrs. Stuckwisch will be a shared art teacher with Claypool Elementary for two days a week.
Mrs. Stuckwisch is a familiar face to Warsaw as a Claypool Knight and Warsaw Community Schools graduate. She shares that she's known that education was her path early on as she's worked with children in cub scouts, as a summer camp counselor and internships at the Fort Wayne Museum of Arts with students K-12. Each year she grew in her passion of teaching art to children. Mrs. Stuckwisch states "Every child is an artist." This belief comes through in how she approaches teaching with the goal to help each student find at least one thing art-related that they enjoy. As she steps in with two STEM schools, Mrs. Stuckwisch is excited to bring the arts into STEM - "STEAM".
When not at school Mrs. Stuckwisch spends time doing ceramics, traveling and reading. She is married to her husband, Grant, and has a soon-to-be two year old daughter named Olivia. Mrs. Stuckwisch has two cats CeCe and Mila that help round out her family. We are excited to have Mrs. Stuckwisch join our family and bring her talents to the students at Washington!
