Challange

Welcome to our video presentation of the #SpeakYourMIND Ice Bucket Challenge!

Originally launched in 2014 to support ALS research, the Ice Bucket Challenge has returned in 2025 with a renewed purpose: raising awareness and funds for mental health. This revival was initiated by the University of South Carolina's MIND (Mental Illness Needs Discussion) club, aiming to destigmatize mental health issues and support suicide prevention efforts. The campaign benefits Active Minds, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting mental health among young adults.

Our students at Lakeview Middle School enthusiastically participated in this movement, demonstrating their commitment to mental health awareness.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to:

  • Mrs. Nikki Wood, our dedicated Health & PE teacher for her unwavering support and encouragement.

  • Mrs. Boggs, our inspiring 8th grade ELA teacher, for her enthusiasm and guidance throughout this initiative.

  • And to all the students, staff, and community members who took part in the challenge—your involvement truly makes a difference.

Together, we are fostering a community that speaks openly about mental health and supports one another.

Let's continue to spread awareness and support by sharing this video and using the hashtag

#SpeakYourMIND.
